1. Phobias

2. Recipe: Winter Beef Ribs

Hello DEAR READER

Well, I have finally completed something I have been “going to do” for years! I have made 4 CDs: Relaxation, Lose Weight Easily, Non-Smoker Forever and Sleep Like a Baby Tonight. Feedback has been good and everyone seems to really relax and enjoy the relaxation side too.

It’s only a few weeks until I depart and will be away for a month on a round-the-world trip, that includes Tehran, Europe and the US. I will be catching up with my mentor in Chicago, who inspired me to become a psychologist in the first place, and Linda Daniels who does Life-Between-Life work, in Los Angeles. Las Vegas might have to be for fun, and I wish Dennis was going to be in Paris for a little romance… oh well, I’m sure my trip will be wonderful anyway… just think, all those Parisian fashions, shoes, churches, wines, pastries will be a feast for the senses. And I will be able to show off my own gorgeous designer wear by Thea & Sami – hand printed gorgeous rich prints such as the Brisbane skyline on beautiful linen. Paris, eat your heart out! See my note below right, and visit Thea & Sami at their screen printing displays.

Warm regards, Narelle

1. Phobias

Here are some you may not have heard of….

Galeophobia or Gatophobia – Fear of cats.  Master can be feisty!

Gallophobia or Galiophobia – Fear France or French culture. (Francophobia)  Not me, I’m excited to go there!

Gamophobia – Fear of marriage

Geliophobia – Fear of laughter

Geniophobia – Fear of chins

Genophobia – Fear of sex

Genuphobia – Fear of knees

Gerascophobia – Fear of growing old

Glossophobia – Fear of speaking in public or of trying to speak.

Gnosiophobia – Fear of knowledge

Gymnophobia – Fear of nudity

Gynephobia or Gynophobia – Fear of women.

I bet there is someone clever out there who could create a wonderful sentence that includes all those things, specially to do with women! If you do, please send it to me to share with everyone.

Common Phobias

There are some phobias that are quite common, such as flying, snakes, public speaking, birds and spiders.

Phobias can be devastating for the sufferer, and also for their family. The Limbic system is the system that links emotions and sensory information (think the 5 senses of sight, smell, sound, touch and taste), and triggers recognition patterns. Ever noticed that when you bought your car, it seemed like everyone else on the road had one the same as yours? Just as we become attuned to easily recognise objects, we also become attuned to potential indicators of stressful occurrences.

When someone has had a bad experience, an emotional response can be anchored to particular memories, or the thought of future recurrences can also hold that same emotional charge. (Triggers or anchors are those things that set someone’s phobia off, so that a panic attack or anxiety occurs.) Once the person begins to worry anxiously about their response, the response becomes even further embedded and more difficult to remove.

The subconscious seems to make a limiting decision that it can’t deal with these things and so, the mere thought of them is often enough to cause a panic attack.

My approach is to use Timeline Processes, and NLP techniques, along with stress management to keep day-to-day stressors down to a minimum, and this works very well.

Master’s Wisdom!

Master says,

“Take care of your body like a cat!

Stretch, groom, clean, and file your nails…

You’ll feel so much better.”

2. Health Tip: Winter Beef Ribs

1.5 kg beef ribs, cut into ribs about 10cm long

3 tbspns Rogan Josh curry paste, mixed with 1 cup hot water.
Trim excess chunks of fat from ribs, then place in crockpot with curry paste and water.  Cook on low for 8 hours.
When cooked, remove ribs from juices and serve with Jasmine rice, steamed broccoli, and honey carrots and soup too!

Make a soup out of the juices by placing the juices in a bowl and refrigerating until cold, and you can scrape the fat off the top and discard.  Add vegetables, barley, beans, rice or pasta and cook in the juices for a delicious thick soup on a winter night.
