2. Recipe: Baked Apple Strudel

Hi there!

We’ve been so lucky with a warm winter so far. Have you been taking care of yourself, stocking up on Vit C and garlic and exercising to keep moving?

Of course, the biggest whammy that reduces our immune system’s ability to intercede is when we have been over-emotional (but not in a good way!) Our emotions are integral parts of staying well and healthy so resolve to be happy and grateful for your life.

Fear of Failure?

Do you ever experience fear that you’ll fail at something you want to do? Oddly enough, the things we fear the most are often the things that happen, almost as though we have attracted the very thing we don’t want.

If you have a fear of failure, you might find that you stop yourself from doing many things that you could do, because of the underlying fear.

Faulty Rationalisation

You’ll also rationalise not doing those things: I can’t afford it; I don’t need it; I’m not ready yet; the time’s not right for me; I need to do more preparation; I don’t want to look silly; Only risk-takers would do that; and on and on.

The more you allow your rationalisation to be your friend, the more unfriendly the fear becomes, so the two feed into each other.

Over-Analysis causes Paralysis

A lot of people spend so much time analysing the situation, they have what’s called paralysis by analysis! This prevents any steps being taken and the sooner you set your intention to conquer your fear and decide to do, rather than think, the sooner you will be successful and beat that fear.

The quickest way to overcome fear of failure is to get started and have a guide, a coach like me to help you, because when you have someone who knows the best way to help you take small steps towards your goals, together you’ll work out the best way to deal with both the fear and the rationalisation. About Hypnosis?

When you are under Hypnosis it is simply a state of awareness that is different to your everyday state. You know what it feels like when you are just about asleep? Or, you’ve just woken up and are still really sleepy, so it’s like you’re here but not here?

That’s what being hypnotized can feel like. It’s very relaxing and you may lose awareness of outside sounds. Hypnosis allows the messages that you accept and want to be delivered straight to your subconscious mind, to be absorbed and carried out without you thinking about it. Some people are frightened of hypnosis, yet it’s really easy and works really well for many of life’s challenges.

2. Recipe: Baked Apple Strudel

Simmer ¾ cup mixed dried fruit in ¾ cup water, ½ tsp cinnamon, and 1 tspn honey until fruit plumps.  Leave to cool. Cut 1 granny smith apple into slices.
Thaw 1 sheet puff pastry, and place in lightly sprayed rectangular tin.  Layer with fruit mix, apple slices, ¼ cup chopped almonds and 2 tblspns long thread coconut.  Be careful not to add too much juice from fruit.  Fold pastry up and around filling to make long parcel.
Close ends in and pinch edges together.  Use some juice to glaze the top.  Prick the top with a fork.  Bake in oven preheated to 225o for 20 minutes or until golden brown.  Delicious with ice cream and cream.
