Your Energetic Environment

Have you ever experienced those times when you find yourself dragging your feet to go to work, or can’t be bothered joining your friends or you just want to escape from home?
There might be some very good reasons for that, and I will mention a few here to get you thinking.
HOME ENVIRONMENT – VISUALS AND AMBIENCE
We might take time to consider that our home might need a spring clean, and yet do we consider that doing it will help our own energy levels? We know that we should keep it clean and tidy, and often it just gets away from us. It might be tidy, but a bit dirty, or it might be clean and quite untidy.
Energetically this will drain our energy every time we think, “I should clean this mess up”, or “I have to clean this place” or “I must tidy up”. Each time you have those thoughts, you will leak energy from you because there is the usual accompaniment of FEELINGS, emotions, that go with those thoughts. even just thinking those thoughts constantly is a waste of valuable brain power.
Naturally, your home fills you with good feelings when it is visually and aesthetically pleasing. This pleasure increases the sense of ambience in your home. It doesn’t matter if you live in a mansion, or you live in a caravan, you can still enhance the ambience and the decor for very little money and usually not too much time or energy either.
Perhaps add candles, or an aromatherapy oil burner, and if you have a small space, remove as much as possible of anything that causes clutter. Use bright throws, or sarongs to jazz up a table or cover a box.
By doing this you will enhance your own energy, and feel more energetic or more relaxed, and it will stop you leaking your energy.
Conversely, if you are a neat and clean, obsessive compulsive type, you are also wasting loads of energy every time you feel compelled to clean up, or tidy up, or straighten up, or put things into a special order.
How else might your environment be affecting you?
SOUNDS
Consider the effect on you, when your neighbours throw a party and it is super noisy. You can’t sleep, you toss and turn, you wake up grumpy, and worse still is when they sleep right through your efforts to wake them up early the next morning! so that waste of time also becomes a waste of your energy.
Solutions: Talk to the neighbours about being considerate when they have a party, and how they can do that.
SMELLS
If you have a pet, then your home can easily and quickly become stuffy and the worst part is that your own sense of smell becomes blunted over time as those smell buds become so used to the smells that you don’t notice them. Make sure you air your home and use some aromatherapy oil as well.
If your sense of smell is blunted, then ask a friend to let you know if your armpits or body is getting whiffy. I know that doesn’t sound good, and yet it is better to know than to be ignorant because you have a cold, or constant sinus and therefore can’t smell your smelly feet or socks or shoes, or body odour.

PEOPLE, PLACES
If you are dragging your feet about going to work then your workplace may have some issues, be that the people you work with or the space you work in. Or, is it the loss of your energy in a tiring, long or niggling commute?
If you are energetically influenced by any of those things, then you have a choice of either staying in that workplace or moving on, if that is an option. If it is not an option, then clean up your workspace, put positive sayings up on your desk, drink lots of water, keep positive thoughts in your mind and praise yourself for doing a good job. Have a happy attitude and keep looking for the good in your situation and in other people. Many people stay for much longer than is good for them without realising that they are being constantly drained of their energy.
Often we learn as much and more, from what we don’t want or don’t like, than we would if a situation were ideal.
Is your office in the right location or building, if you are a business owner with have your own office? I know when I was in West End while I loved the people in the building, the sounds behind me from the night club emptying their bottles with a huge crash and bang into the bins, and the sounds of people going past to go to the kitchen or bathroom, were all impacting on my energy.
I kind of knew that it was affecting me, without me being fully aware of just how much it did, until I moved to Lutwyche and didn’t have that commute from northside to West End, or the boom crash in the background.
9 SOLUTIONS TO CONSERVE OR REPLENISH YOUR ENERGY
It isn’t always practical to move job, or office or home, so what can you do in the meantime?
- Be grateful for what you do have
- Think happy thoughts and stop blaming yourself or others
- Drink plenty of water, move your body and eat regularly every day
- Meditate daily
- Laugh out loud
- Keep home and work spaces clean, neat and tidy
- Burn aromatherapy oils for calming soothing effects or for energising you
- And, conserve your energy and avoid drama or those who go in for high drama as this will also drain your precious reserves.
- Lastly, and most importantly, love yourself fully
