Counselling
Counselling involves you talking with your psychologist about your issues, and the psychologist helps you to understand and reframe the way that you think, so that you think and feel differently about situations. You may do some problem-solving exercises and learn different ways of approaching situations and people. Counselling may take many sessions to be effective if you have long-standing issues.
Hypnotherapy
Hypnotherapy addresses and works with your Inner Child, the subconscious aspect of yourself. The process of hypnosis allows the therapist to go behind the scenes and work directly without the negative or constraining influences of your conscious mind. If change is to occur, it occurs at the level of your inner child, also known as your sub-conscious.
Psychological therapy
Cognitive psychology, positive psychology, behavioural therapy strengths-based psychology etcetera, require you to examine your thinking and behaviours and focus on the positives, on your strengths, and your desired goals. You could learn things like the STOP technique, or how to dissect and rewrite negative thought programmes for positive outcomes.
Psychotherapy
Psychotherapy utilises different therapies that tend to work with the subconscious mind, and accesses emotions or parts of yourself that may be in conflict. Psychotherapy may involve the use of art, drama or dance, role plays, voice dialogue, integration of conflicting parts, and other therapeutic techniques.
Timeline techniques
Timeline techniques take their name from the idea that each of us has a timeline along which your subconscious stores both emotional and detailed information of events, that could be positive or negative in their impact on you.
Your timeline may contain constructed (imagined) details for the future, and store past (remembered or blocked out) memories.
Timeline techniques are guided visualization processes that rewrite the scripts of the past, so that you let go of emotional baggage and install positive ways of being and behaving. When these new and positive ways are installed right back at the very beginning, a ripple effect occurs so that the new ways flow through your timeline to change your perception of old events, so that they no longer have any emotional charge and feel neutral.
Additionally, these new and positive ways of being, feeling and thinking, extend into your future so that you are able to behave differently in situations which would previously have triggered your old outdated responses.
On completion, when you look back on your past, the emotional bags will have disappeared and you really will feel neutral, or that stuff happened, and it’s behind you and doesn’t bother you now.
NLP (Neuro Linguistic Programming)
Neuro – the body’s neurological responses such as you see in a change of skin colour, muscle tone, eye movements, breathing patterns, hand or body gestures, nervous tics;
Linguistic – the language of the body and mind, so that includes all of the above, plus speech – tone, rate of speech, grammar and use of visual, auditory, kinaesthetic, olfactory and gustatory words, sentence composition;
Programming – how we are programmed and how our subconscious stores these programmes so that they are ingrained habits that become patterns of behaviour or thought or emotions that kick in automatically. Your programmes act as filters that prevent you from making positive changes, and because these programmes are rooted in the subconscious or inner child, those old outdated programmes are extremely difficult to change from a conscious cognitive approach.
A bit like knowing that one should not eat certain foods and still eats them anyway!
NLP is a way of building rapport, of communicating, and of using various psychotherapy techniques to make change at the level of the subconscious mind, which is much faster and easier than doing it through the conscious cognitive mind.
Be Set Free Fast
This process takes a couple of hours and involves rating the emotional baggage that you are weighed down with, then being guided in specific visualisation processes so that you install an automatic response pattern which is soothing, calming and interrupts the old way of feeling, thinking and responding.

Giving Up Smoking / Stop Smoking: Hypnosis and Timeline Techniques
4 regular sessions of hypnosis may help you to stop smoking and get lasting results. Smoking is a regular habit so regular sessions do get great results when you want to quit smoking. Research shows that by having 4 to 6 sessions, the success rate for hypnosis is about 96%!
When you stop smoking with hypnosis, there is no craving, and no desire to smoke. Plus, you may take care of your weight issues at the same time. How good is that? Great!
Depression
Most people don’t realise that depression is made up of many factors and requires assessment of all of these factors before a diagnosis can be made.
Motivational Boosters
In between your psychology sessions, which are usually structured a fortnight apart, you are able to email me and have a quick 5 minute phone call.
After each session, and sent by email, you will receive motivational boosters, plus a ‘white paper’ with information for homework or just to ponder on.
Homework is an important aspect because it helps you to practise stress management and implement what you have learnt.
Your Investment in good mental health
Your investment in your health is the most important commitment you will ever make. Psychology / NLP sessions are usually 50 minutes in length. Without meeting you and assessing you, it would be incorrect to say exactly how many sessions you will need. Sometimes it really is a question of, “how long is a piece of string?”
